Students will choose a commercial or advertisement that incorporates elements from Ancient Greek myth, culture, or archaeology (for example the 2022 BMW super bowl commercial with Zeus) and analyze the use of the Classical element. Students should discuss the choices made and how the element is portrayed (inaccuracies, how a god is characterized, etc.) and how that is used as part of the rhetoric (logos, ethos, pathos) of the commercial.
Some questions to guide your thinking are: How is the classical element being portrayed? Is it historically accurate? Why and how is it being used to persuade the viewer?
This assignment should combine students’ understanding of rhetoric with the information about the Classical world.

You must include a bibliography, but the style of citation MLA/Chicago/APA does not matter as long as it is consistent.
