The point of the reflections below is to prompt you to think about the accuracy of personality typing. Can a simple assessment like this accurately determine your true personality? If the original result is dramatically closer to your actual personality than the reverse version, there might be something rather compelling about this method to determine personality!
1. WRITE A PARAGRAPH (ยฝ page) that discusses your reaction to the personality type assessment you received. Do you think the assessment is an accurate description of your personality โ€ฆ at least as you see it? In your paragraph, also provide an approximate โ€œgradeโ€ of how close the personality type is to how you see yourself. Is it 95% correct? 50% correct? Even less correct?
The response should be written with the mindset of being “YES, it is very accurate to my personality” and 95% accurate. 2. WRITE A PARAGRAPH (ยฝ page) that discusses your reaction to a reverse personality assessment as if you had actually received it. Your โ€œreverse personality typeโ€ has each of the 4 letters switched to the other possibility (e.g. if you are ESTJ, the reverse is INFP). Read the reverse personality description as provided on the website. Assume that the assessment had told you that this was your personality based on your answers. What would you conclude about the utility of this assessment? How close is this type to who you are? Is it 95% correct? 50% correct? โ€ฆ. Even less correct?
3. WRITE A PARAGRAPH (ยฝ page) in which you take a position whether you, as a hiring manager, will ask job applicants to take a personality assessment. Though somewhat controversial, companies do sometimes employ personality tests and other similar assessments as part of their hiring process. Explain briefly why you have made that decision. Do you believe that is a reasonable thing to require of a job applicant? Could it change your decision to hire someone, if you donโ€™t think their personality is a โ€œfit?โ€
